James, I might need to take you up on that! My backpack usually hurts my back and I imagine carrying it on a long distance ride would be baaad!

Hello all, hope it's not too late to join, I just saw this meet. This would be great because it would be my first group ride. I might need to bail out earlier though, got stuff that need to be done in the afternoon.

Hey madeline. Ty will give you more details. However I have done this ride as a newbie total rookie with just msf classes and about 150 miles of backroad practice. I am rusty after not riding a few weeks. But this is a good newbie ride as long as the sweeps are cool with us hanging in the back. Last time I did the ride in june, it was a 6 hour day with lunch and 3 stops. If I can clear my schedule to go [may only be able to do the first part and back via manterey rd] I would be glad to ride with you. Safety and good gear as well as hydration and enjoying the ride are most important to me! I will know by Tuesday if my schedle clears to be able to go!
.ps; I have ridden the first part of this ride many times but the roop, estates and canada part is some of the prettiest. But you will be tired and a bit sore if you don't ride a lot.what do think group?
Ps: I only have a little more than 1200 mil on my own bike so I am a newbie too.

Madelline and Kellie - yes, this route is suitable for new riders. The entire route from coffee to the reservoir is under 100 miles (doesn't include mileage to/from the start/end points) with places to bail out should you get tired or need to leave early.

I've added a link to the Google map in the info section. There will be no freeway unless you choose to slab to coffee or back home.

As always, each rider should be responsible for riding their own ride. We will have a designated sweep who will be with you at all times and we wait for riders at the turns so no one will get lost or left behind. :)

I have done this route a few times. Its a great ride for newbies as long as you
Follow the speed limits and safety rules.
Its a beautiful ride especially with a group.
I am not sure if I can attend yet.
But this is an awesome ride and roop road through the tree lined
Peaceful roads is perfect for a fall day.
