Big City Dare2Draw Presents:
Special Guest: Emmy Award Winning Artist
Dean Haspiel
Dean Haspiel has been a strong supporter of the idea of artists working together and will be sharing his thoughts and experience with us:
"The Business of Making Comics - an informal talk with Dean Haspiel."
Emmy Award winning artist, Dean Haspiel, creator of the Eisner Award nominated BILLY DOGMA, currently illustrates for HBO's hit show, "Bored To Death." Dino has drawn many superheroes, semi-autobiographical comic books and graphic novels for major publishers, including collaborations with Jonathan Lethem, Harvey Pekar, Jonathan Ames, Inverna Lockpez and, recently, Tim Hall on "The Last Mortician," for  His latest project is Trip City.
The DrawBridge Studio members will also be sharing some drawing tips for working from live models.
DrawBridge Studio
The DrawBridge Studio (formerly Deep6 Studio) is situated in charming Gowanus Brooklyn, underneath the rail-bridge carrying the G & F lines of the NYC Subway system, and a block from the 9th Street Drawbridge, over the Gowanus Canal.

Since its founding in 2007, it has been the workplace (and life-substitute) for numerous Brooklyn based professional cartoonists, including Leland Purvis, Dean Haspiel, Joan Reilly, Tim Hamilton, Robin Ha, Mike Cavallaro, Chris Sinderson, George O'ConnerReilly Brown & Simon Fraser.

Many others have passed through its doors and continue to spend time there. It's more fun working together than working alone.
