Hi Artists! Thank you so much for checking out Darklingthrush Art Collective. At this time I've decided to limit my studio to only two artists at a time as I've found what works best for me. Alice has been a wonderfully supportive member and a real inspiration and she has been there from the beginning so it'll just be the two of us sharing the space for now. I won't be adding any new members therefore.
Hi! Are you a female artist looking for inspiration, encouragement, camaraderie and a fun place to paint? Do you like the idea of being part of an art group with the possibility of working toward group shows? I have extra studio space available in my home and would like to share the experience with other creative women. (Sorry guys. At this point I just wouldn't feel comfortable with strange (unfamiliar) men in my house while my husband is busy at work. I'm sure you get it.)
I've been painting in oils for quite a while now and have had some sales, but I really want to make this my career. I know that to get better I have to be more disciplined and that means setting aside specific days per week to hone my craft. It doesn't mean I have to do it by myself, though.
Join me on a regular basis or drop in when the urge to paint in a small group setting strikes. Work quietly on your own or we can put on some tunes or chat a bit. I'll be hosting painting sessions several times a week starting around 10am until 4pm and adding evening sessions depending on requests. Only 3 - 4 artists max at one time so we all get lots of elbow room! Coffee or tea will be close by (or wine - BYOB). Whatever keeps the creative juices flowing!
To offset costs, a suggested contribution of $10/month for painting time and beverages is requested. I'm playing this by ear and depends on how often you wish to use the studio space.
I'm looking forward to meeting some new and interesting women while working towards a satisfying career in the arts. Thanks for visiting the Darklingthrush Art Collective on Meetups!
