Who are we?

Primarily we are a group of parents in Dartmouth. We meet regularly to provide support to one another and provide friendship and interaction for our young children (0-5 yrs). Our events are varied and there`s something for everyone.

Some examples of our meetups include, park playdates, in-home playgroups, walks, picnics, trips to parent and child friendly attractions like museums, indoor playgrounds, swimming, shopping malls. We would also like to offer seminar and information sessions if we can get enough people interested, such as Child CPR and first aid courses, nutrition and healthy eating, gardening, investing (RRSP/RESP), estate planning and wills; as well as anything else that might be of interest.

Our goal is to always have fun, to provide a stimulating environment for all parents and tots and make lasting friendships.

Please feel free to let us know if there is a specific event you want to host or any other suggestions. We hope this proves to be a useful and rewarding group!

Who can join the Dartmouth Social Parents meetup?

We warmly welcome any expecting parents, stay-at-home and working parents. Basically anyone who would like to actively participate in group events, whether you are a stay-at-home parent who needs to get out during the day, or if you need things to do on the weekends.

Who should not join the Dartmouth Social Parents meetup?

• Anyone who does not intend to participate on a regular basis.
• Anyone who only wants to join to advertise their business. (Please see our sponsorship section instead.)
• Anyone who is looking only for message board support.
• Those who do not have a serious desire to cultivate lasting friendships for themselves as well as their children.

What can I do to make this group better?

• Attend events!
• Host events!
• Participate in discussions on the message board.
• Ask questions and provide other parents with the answers they're looking for.
• Recommend products you love.
• Post a review on products/services you were unhappy with to warn other parents.

This group belongs to all of us!!

What are the requirements?

We ask that you:

1) Attend a minimum of one event every 2 months to remain a member of our group, and that you login on the site at least once a month. Members who do not attend on any sort of regular basis are subject for removal. This helps keep our group active and safe.

2) We also require that you post a photo of you in your profile, this is mandatory within your first week of being made an active member. The safety of our group is our primary concern. Please take a moment to update your profile.

3) Please actively look at the messages and polls and respond accordingly. We'd like to make this group good for everyone. Also, please RSVP to each of the events you can make it to.  You do not need to RSVP NO to events you will not attend.
