It wasn't touched at dinner, but It went quick when it was served on the patio after the discussion.

Excellent outing! I was quiet but I'm always quiet at the first meeting (and sober) I look forward to bringing some whiskey next time; I'm currently doing some extra cutting and watching calories. I look forward to meeting everyone again!

I believe the woman is making some kind of meatball dish. I told her that in honor of the topic, she is to stay in the kitchen.

I just took inventory and we have seating for 11 (12 if you count the beanbag chair). If a few of you can bring a couple of folding chairs I would appreciate it.

i was thinking about bringing pizza. anybody up for that? i'll stay with the basics, nothing exotic.

    July 29, 2014

    • Stephen

Anyone caught objecting to pizzeria will be flogged. But seriously, everyone can bring whatever they want. Also, many of us come straight from work, so coming empty handed is also forgiveable.

I'll bring rolls and chicken salad.

    Hello everyone!

I suggest topics such as 1. Brain vs computer

    2. Progress in understanding consciousness

    3. Creativity

    4. Two million in prisons, etc.

I am always ready to do an introduction, then we can discuss. Or, I will listen someone else does introduction.

Thank you, Stephen. So, let us put any of my topics for August 20, at Gina's house or my house - I live in Pel City, on I 20, some 30 or 40 miles from Bham. Robert

August 27 is still open for DT Discussions - it's at Steven Fontenot's house in Hoover. Robert, would you be willing to lead one of those topics then???? :-)

Hi everyone; I have a question. I am interested in the discussion and socializing but I am a non-drinker. If these meetups are really boozy affairs, I probably would not be comfortable. Can someone please let me know? Thanks.

    July 20, 2014

    • Stephen

The meetups are not alcohol centered and intoxicated participants are not the norm. However, several of our discussion participants appreciate good beer or wine, and are welcomed to bring them. So, if you're a recovering alcoholic this is probably not a good place for you, otherwise there shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks Stephen. I've been sober for 12 years, but it sounds like I might feel a little uncomfortable. I appreciate your response.

Robert, I already had a topic for this discussion, I just hadn't gotten around to posting it. We have some dates coming up if you would like to lead a discussion.
