Here's a new article about trends in the US regarding religious affiliation.  Researchers from UC Berkeley and Duke think the rise of the "nones" (people with no religious affiliation) may be due in part to "blowback" from the Religious Right movement.  In other words, the strategy employed by religious conservatives is actually speeding up the secularization of America.  I think this is probably true, but I also think it is just one factor.  I think there are many other things going on behind the rise of the "nones".  Still, it's a nice little article.  The ranking of states by religious affiliation is also interesting.  Alabama ranks 3rd by the way.  Which is why groups like DT are so important here.
