For the April DBDC meetup, we are going to change it up a bit, moving away from startups to BIG companies, and examine big data infrastructure possibilities from Intridea, Oracle, and others.

- Second, head on over to 1776, a big beautiful new space in DC where we will be holding our next Data Business DC meetup, starting at 6:45pm (talks start promptly at 7pm).
Charles Scyphers, Oracle
Mr. Scyphers is a Big Data Evangelist with Oracle Corporation. He has been working with highly available, highly scalable, high throughput enterprise data systems for over 20 years, specializing in Oracle, Hadoop and other Big Data technologies. His last two startups were built on Hadoop (a resume analytics tool and a network security tool).
Jim Fiori is a Senior Solutions Architect with MapR Technologies, a leading provider of enterprise-grade Hadoop solutions. Jim has a long history in IT, involving roles in software development, performance engineering, and pre-sales engineering in both the commercial and government spaces, including the Intelligence Community. Jim has deep systems knowledge including servers, networks, storage, operating systems, and high-availability. Before joining MapR, he was at Sun Microsystems and Oracle solving complex customer problems. Jim's interests are in Big Data architectures, enterprise software, performance analysis and tuning, and distributed systems.
Tom Zeng, Intridea Director of Engineering--Tom is passionate about leading edge technologies, he enjoys building awesome applications with the talented people at Intridea. He had many years of experience with building enterprise applications using Java. His current favorite tools are Ruby and Rails, CoffeeScript, and MongoDB, and he still enjoys using Java with JRuby. His other interests include Big Data and Machine Learning.
Prior to Intridea, Tom worked as the Lead Software Architect for a leading corporate GPS fleet tracking company. Tom also had experiences in developing enterprise applications in corporate risk management, context aware computing, business-to-business ecommerce, banking and finance with companies such as iJET Inteilligent Systems, Unwired Express, Spaceworks, Ironside Technologies, and Footprint Software/IBM Canada.
