Outstanding. Great variety of causes, different uses for data and questions about data use.

Presentations were informative with a wide array of use cases for data mining and possibilities for involvement. The moderator was great at keeping the presentations and discussions moving, although overall the talks ran about two hours. Definitely a good space for a meet-up. A nice-to-have would have been to post the organization contact information in an online document with the meet-up as well as a summarized list of data needs to quick start those who are ready for immediate involvement. An example would be Prize4Life (?), which came prepared with an immediate use case and available database for algorithm development. This is way beyond the scope of the meetup however it almost seems as if there is a need for a kiva-like site where NGO data mining projects could be proposed and intellectual/social capital could be matched.

Interesting organizations. Except Impact IQ, of which I am suspicious.

Exhilarating talks. I stayed until the end and enjoyed each and every presentation. Five minutes more for each would have been fine too! :)

Center for investigative reporting was awesome! I really enjoyed how they went over case studies and didn't exclusively discuss prizes like the other.

I wasn't really sure what to expect going in. The first speaker, from CIR, was interesting. The rest just seemed to be asking for free help.

Does anyone know if bike parking is available at Twitter's new HQ?

I think people would find this TED talk about Twitter and rumors in crisis situations very relevant/worthwhile :
http://talentsearch.ted.com/video/Farida-Vis-Social-media-and-the;TEDLondon , and the recent UN GlobalPulse whitepaper:

Oh wow, would love to attend, but I'll be out of town. Could you please share slides after the event? Thanks much!
