I've been a statistician for three years after studying political science in graduate school. I have experience with multivariate regression, maximum likelihood models (logit and probit models), time series analysis, and hazard models. I also have experience using SQL to run queries on the large databases I use at work.
SAS primarily right now. I also have used Stata in the past.
I'm currently a statistician for the government but am interested in making the transition into data science. I have some experience with SAS programming (I use SQL through SAS), but I want to know some more about which other computer languages I should be learning to become a data scientist. I'm also interested in learning more about the different industries (both in and out of the government) that are currently using data science to gain insights into their businesses. And I'm interested in doing some professional networking.
I'm a statistician for the Treasury Department. I'm interested in making the transition into data science, so I'm looking to learn more about what I would need to do to make that transition.
Great first event for me. I'll be returning for other meetups in the future. This is a great community.
