What is your level of experience with Statistics, Predictive Analytics, Machine Learning and/or Data Mining?

I have some formal econometrics training from my undergrad at UVM but my statistical computing experience is largely self-taught with the help of google and books. I have been actively coding for about 2 years.

What tools and technologies do you use?

Lot of R within a AWS EC2 architecture. Postgresql, and its procedural langauge plpgsql and its R wrapper pl/R. Heavy Bash shell scripting but starting to move towards Python and rpy2. I am very interested in web development and have started playing around with Rapache as well as django/rpy2 and javascript.

What do you hope to get out of this group?

Meet interesting data hackers.

I work for a software start up in Mclean Va as a data product developer. I love data hacking and anyone who i doing interesting things with data.
