"Julia - Shooting Star or Flash in the Pan?" by Dr. Malcolm Sherrington, Julia User Group
Julia is a new language from MIT which has created considerable interest since it was launched two years ago. In this talk of the London Julia User Group, discusses Julia and why we should take note of it as Data Scientists, contrasting it with current approaches offered by Python, R and Matlab etc. It has been designed from the outset to be flexible, fast and with some unique features but are these sufficient to establish Julia as a major force in software development or will it remain a clique programming language or sink without trace?
