What do you hope to get from this meet up?

To meet other practitioners and enthusiasts, help build a data science community, and discuss really interesting problems around technology, the utility of data and privacy.

What is your experience with Data Science?

Former Army Intelligence officer; have been working with a handful of US Intelligence Agencies to make data useful.

What Data Science tools do you use?

Hadoop, Java, Python, SQL, Hive, and Pig - but only as an observer. My main interest is the ethical use of data to build better outcomes while maintaining privacy.

I've worked at Digital Reasoning for the past 7 years and have worked around Hadoop, R, Scala, Cassandra, and other "Big Data" tools as we support clients in the US Intelligence Community as well as global banks.
