What is your favorite tool for visualizing data?

Right now I'm in a battle over Tableau and good old fashion excel.

Do you think data visualization is more of an art or more of a science? Why?

Art - put together the actual visuals is a matter of technology. Understanding what information to display and the manner to display it in, is what drives value for the end user.
