What is your favorite tool for visualizing data?

Do you think data visualization is more of an art or more of a science? Why?

Scientific methods and artistic techniques go together.Rigorous science requires rigorous rules. Art comes in handy in playing with visuals , rearrange them and present w/o worry about scientific rigors. Once a pattern is built, the image can give tools to translate the images to rigorous methods(at times). Art connects with our brain neural networks.
