What is your favorite tool for visualizing data?

Excel

Do you think data visualization is more of an art or more of a science? Why?

Principals often tell me numbers & figures can’t help them. But when I put those figures into a potent visualization that tells a story they were only tacitly aware of, everything changes. There is an art to getting this reaction.

Introduction

I currently work as a Data and Performance Specialist at DC Public Schools where I present data and analysis to central office, to principals, and to teachers to help guide them in their policies and practices.
