We are setting up our first 'living data' approach to data journalism / open data

What do you use to store data? SQL / Cassandra / MongoDB etc.

Plan to use MongoDB for first project but how we store data will vary by project

What languages / tools help you visualize and explore data?

Still exploring this space. We have use Tableau to explore data and most of our visualizations are one-offs.
