Part I: Trustable Data: Challenges in a National Sports Association (NSA)
Speaker: Shen Ting Ang, Senior Data Scientist, INSEAD.
As companies move into data analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence, non-profit organisations, especially National Sports Associations (NSAs), might be left behind due to various hurdles. Shen Ting brings a perspective from his hands-on experience with the Singapore Contract Bridge Association, shedding light on overcoming data challenges within the constraints of non-profit operations. This talk will discuss specific obstacles encountered in a volunteer-driven environment and propose possible solutions that can be applicable to other non-profit organizations.
Part 2: AI Ethics? AI Governance? Trustable AI!
Speaker: Koo Ping Shung, Co-founder of DataScience SG
In the last two years, we have seen the rise of terms like "AI Ethics" and "AI Governance" but are we hitting the right notes with them, if we want to build Artificial Intelligence that can benefit humanity overall? In this talk, Koo will be sharing his thoughts on these topics and how we can move towards building sustainable and impactful AIs that will improve humanity.
Speaker Bio
Shen Ting is Senior Data Scientist at INSEAD, with more than a decade of experience in the data industry, having previously worked in I2R, Govtech and Wecash. Previously, he read BSc MMORSE at the University of Warwick and also holds a MS in Computer Science from the University of California, San Diego. Shen Ting was also part of the team which placed 4th in the Shopee National Data Science Challenge in 2019. Shen Ting served as Competitions Secretary on the committee of the Singapore Contract Bridge Association from July 2019 to Oct 2023. He is also a qualified Asia-Pacific Bridge Federation International Tournament Director and was Non-Playing Captain of the national youth teams for the World Youth Championships in 2023.

Koo Ping Shung has 20 years of relevant experience in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. He is an instructor, trainer, and facilitator for various institutions and Career Conversion Programs locally and has taught overseas participants. Besides conducting training, Koo is a Data Science & Artificial Intelligence advisor to businesses and startups and has mentored many individuals, professionals, and undergrads. He is also the AI Trust & Community Advisor at AIMX - SWITCH SINGAPORE
His strong passion shines further with him co-founding DataScience SG, one of the largest interest groups/tech communities in the region. He was previously the President of AI Professionals Association. He shares his content through his website and also his newsletter at koopingshung.substack.com.
