A Dickens’ of a Christmas, written by George Hosker-Bouley, will return for its 10th year at the Old Salt Restaurant, Lafayette Road, Hampton. Doors open at 6pm. The evening includes a gourmet three-course dinner, live music, holiday carols and this great, entertaining show.
This hilarious production, puts a unique spin of the classic A Christmas Carol. Befuddled with writers block, a concerned Charles Dickens wonders what gift he should give his children for the holiday. After deciding to give them a story the well of ideas runs dry as Dickens discusses his troubles with his friends, all of whom appear in the classic tale.
The production is complemented with original music, classic holiday songs and the artistry of fiddle and guitar player Jane Grondin.
A production presented by Carpe Diem, Hosker’-Bouley’s award winning company that has been producing award-winning original theater for more than 20 years. Including the ever-popular PORTSMOUTH Underbelly Tour (see our Private meetup scheduled for May[masked]).
As Artistic and Executive of the Prescott Park Arts festival for more than 13 seasons, Hosker always blended traditional stories with a wry sense of humor. This troupe of talented performers will give you a treat for your ears and funny bone. The show stars local favorites Dennis Purdie, Meg Oolders, Kathy Horrigan, Vanessa Gourde, Jeremiah Johnson, Libby Ware and a special guest performance by Michael Hosker-Bouley as Death.
Tickets are $39.99 per person CASH @ the door. Just say you're with Dana of the Portsmouth & Beyond meetup group. http://www.meetup.com/PortsmouthAndBeyond/
