Clarksburg Country Run

5K, 10K, Half-Marathon, and 20-miler. http://www.clarksburgcountryrun.com. This is a very scenic, non-crowded, and not too expensive run in the Sacramento area. The 20-mile race is great if you are training, or thinking about training, for a full marathon, as there are very few races of that distance around - nice half-way between a half-marathon and a full. Lunch served in the school cafeteria after the race. Starting times vary depending on which race you want to do, and you can even change your mind and scale down to another race at the last minute. Also, race day packet pick-up available. We can arrange carpooling from Davis.

This is the course map that outlines the location of all the various aid stations along the route. PowerGel will be available on both the half marathon and 20 mile courses at the locations outlined below. The orange "O" indicates fruit will be available at that station. Toilets are available at each aid station as well.

Great run, guys! I love this race. I hope everyone had a nice time. It was wonderful seeing most of you there. I was excited to get 3rd place in my age division. When I did it two years ago, I got 4th place. Nice to take home the plaque this time! :-)

GOOD JOB Barb. It was nice meeting everyone. I had a great run even though I am very sore now. See you all soon.

Hi Barb - are you still planning on doing packet pickup before race day (I think I remember you mentioning that on the bike ride)? If so, are you willing to pick up packets for others?

The above is from the Facebook page for the Clarksburg Run. Gene, we will pick you up at 7:00 am. Sorry you will have to wait around for the 1/2 to start. If you want, we can give you the keys to our car so you can sit in it if it is cold. Tara - let me know if you are riding with us. We should get there by 7:45 am and have ample time to get a close parking spot and packets before the race starts. Looking forward to it!

Thread is starting to get long so thought I'd start a new comment :) I just decided to drop down to the 1/2 after this weekend - I'm in no shape to do the 20! Joy - last I heard Lawrence should also be doing the 1/2 as Barb mentioned.

I am signed up for the half. I'm slow and determined -- about 3 hours to finish. I'll be the one in the red, white & blue tutu. :-)

The last person to finish a race is still a half-marathoner!!! Who cares? You are doing it! My husband and I will be slow at the 20-mile race because we have not trained as much as we should have by now, but we figure if we have to walk the last few miles, we still want to do it. We'll need to pace more carefully. Did a personal best half three weeks ago, but this is 7 miles more. Hope to finish the 20 miles in 4 hours.

Also, check out the "Running Adventures Travel Club" Meet-up group. There are many people signed up over there who are doing the 1/2.

I was going to run the 10K but sounds like I'd be on my own, so I will skip it. Maybe next time. Plus, the car is full from Davis anyway. I may run the Turkey Trot on November 23rd if anyone wants to join me. Probably the 10K. Have a great race everyone!

Harris and I just registered for the 20-mile race! Even if you are doing a shorter race, we can still carpool together.

Sounds like you guys are all set with the car pool, and I was going to do the 10K anyway, so I will just sit this one out, as I'd have to come much much earlier as the 10K doesn't start until 9:30 and I think the 20 miles starts at like 8 or 8:30. No worries! If I decide to do it, I can always drive myself. Thanks! Have fun and hope it is a great run for all of you.
