Climb Mt. Agassiz in Desolation Wilderness

No location was chosen

OK, the date has been set.  Let us climb Mt. Agassiz from Lyons Creek trailhead.  The approach is roughly 6-8 miles (each way) through a nice forested valley.  The climb is mostly talus with some easy class 3 rock at the end.  The summit has, in my opinion, the best views in Desolation wilderness.

Sounds fun, want to get on those peaks beyond Pyramid at some point. Unfortunately, new job and and working all week.

Nice hike, and only about 12 miles round-trip. Great scenery as usual in that area. Not much snow but lots of water ice all over Lyons Creek valley (nothing steep enough to be worth climbing, unfortunately). All lakes and streams above 7K are frozen. North Couloir on Pyramid looks open for business. Most slopes are bare though - nice dry granite, as climbable as in the summer.
