Description: The trail leads to Big Rock where we will turn around and head back. It is a pleasant hike in the pine trees in the bountiful hills. Easy to moderate in degree of difficulty so everyone can enjoy it. Very popular with locals. Not sure what the weather will be like so might need to bring Yack Tracks, snow boots or snow shoes. You judge the weather.
Duration: 3 hrs
Length: about 3 miles in and out (total of 6)
Difficulty: easy to moderate
Directions: On I-15, take the 2600 south Bountiful/Woods Cross exit. Go east towards the mountains. The road will turn north and be renamed Orchard Drive. While heading north, turn right (east) on 1800 south. This street takes you to the trailhead about 2 miles later, where you'll see parking places on the right side of the road. Parking is limited.
Bring: plenty of water, layer your clothes, hiking boots, good attitude, food.
