Snowbird Tram and Octoberfest

Description: We will start at the terrace and hike up the canyon following the trails.  It is about 3000' vertical feet climb.  We will catch the tram down and admire the view.  (tram ride down is free)

When we are done, you can enjoy any of the other venues up there.... probably take 4 hrs going up the canyon

I will be stopping at the tent and enjoying the music and food.  Anyone want a ride from Centerville, let me know.  I will meet at the target parking lot on the north side. at 9:45 AM.

Some notes: I was told it took 1:45 min to make it too the tram with some, and that was 4 miles for them(took one short path on the way that reduced it). It took me 3:45 min and 4.5 miles. They waited 1 hour for us. The base was around 8000 feet and the tram was around 11000 feet according to My Tracks app.

Mike, Drew and myself made it to the top of Mt Baldy. We then went down the back side and through the tunnel. We walked all the way back down and the hardest / steepest part was near the bottom where we could see the tent & hear the polka music!

Tram and hike was great. Have been to the Oktoberfest (yes, it is written with a "k" in the German language) in August, went therefore to Zupas for their outstanding mushroom soup.

I would like a ride from the Centerville Target parking lot. My schedule is completely flexible so I can stay at Snowbird for as long as you want or I can return as soon as you want. Thanks.

I have two others who would like a ride from Target so if Richard does not have room, maybe they can go with Alicia. I'll still ride with Richard.

Once the group reaches the tram, I plan to continue hiking to Mt Baldy. That peak is actually 68' higher, but the trail goes down and then back up again to reach it. I did the hike a few years ago and it was fun. Link to trail map http://www.snowbird.com/imageli... (Mt Baldy on second page)

I would like to go to the top also, I live in Bountiful so if you need a back no problem.

Ok - I'll plan on it if Richard wants to leave before I get back off the top.

The altitude gain is not very difficult as it appears as it is spread over a distance. You can see from the pics there is a wide road to walk up if you choose to take that way up. I did take the road. Just taking the time up make the Alt. gain much more reasonable and doable. Many have went.
There is fun booths to see and food to eat if you wish afterwards.
