Join us on a private coach trip to the picturesque beach resort of Bournemouth and the Sandbanks Peninsular. We'll be spending most of our day in Bournemouth which is one of the most famous beach resorts in the UK.
Bournemouth consistently wins awards which confirm its status as amongst the finest sea-side destinations in the UK. For example, readers of leading travel magazine Group Leisure have voted Bournemouth the Best Resort in the UK on four occasions in the last 6 years. Trip Adviser also consistently rates Bournemouth very highly and in 2012 Bournemouth actually won the award for Best Beach in the UK (assessed by the number of positive Trip-Adviser reviews).
The coach will also be taking us to Sandbanks - only a 20-minute journey from Bournemouth. The beach on the Sandbanks peninsular is unspoiled and free of any major developments. The appeal of Sandbanks is shown by the fact that it's the fourth most expensive place to live in the world. We'll also be briefly stopping at the 'west-side' of the Sandbanks Peninsula. Here we'll have a great view of Poole Harbour from an area known as North Haven Lake. This is the largest natural harbour in Europe.
This month my brother Terry and myself (Martyn) spent two separate days in both these locations specifically to ensure the careful planning of this day trip.
Please scroll down past the beautiful photos of Bournemouth and Sandbanks below to read the full plan, detailed itinerary and what's included in the price:
An Introduction to Sandbanks:
The coach will collect us at 9:00 am from Central London and our first stop will be to Sandbanks - (approximately 2 hours and twenty minutes from London).
While the majority of our day will be spent in Bournemouth, the narrow Sandbanks Peninsular is also a great location. We'll be viewing both sides of the Sandbanks Peninsular. On the east side is Sandbanks Beach. While the beach can occasionally be busy on a warm summer's day, it still has a tranquil and unspoiled feel.
The west side of the Sandbanks Peninsular is commonly referred to as 'North Haven Lake'. This 'Lake' has beautiful views over the largest natural harbour in Europe. Walking from the east side beach to the west side harbour will take us only 5-minutes as the peninsular is so narrow.
An Introduction to Bournemouth:
At 1:00 pm the coach will take us from Sandbanks to our main destination - Bournemouth (only a 20-minute journey). Award-Winning Bournemouth is one of the largest beach resorts in the UK. It's famous for its grand developed sea-front, beautiful beaches and prized gardens. Bournemouth was developed as a sea-side resort in the 1840's and ever since has been attracting large numbers of tourists. Today, Bournemouth attracts approximately 5 million visitors every year. The 19th Century Bournemouth Pier alone is visited by 1/2 million tourists each year.
On our visit we'll also be taking everyone on a stroll through the beautiful award-winning Bournemouth Gardens which are just behind the sea-front. Everyone will also have the option of joining us at the fascinating Russell Cotes Museum and Art Gallery - set in a Victorian cliff-top Mansion.

Russell Cotes Museum and Art Gallery:
Visit one of the most important and fascinating museum-houses in England. It holds collections of international status and reflects the Victorian fascination with world cultures. This cliff-top museum is housed in a Grade II Listed Victorian Mansion with an internationally renowned art collection.
The Russell-Cotes was the home of two Victorian collectors and travel enthusiasts, Sir Merton and Lady Annie Russell-Cotes. The building and its contents were gifted to the people of Bournemouth in 1908 and additional art galleries were added. The Russell-Cotes collection is especially strong in European and Japanese arts.
However, please can members who do want to visit this museum ensure they 'Click Here' to read important information relating to this attraction before booking on this Day Trip.

Option of bringing Packed-Lunch to maximise sightseeing time:
As with any day trip, our time will inevitably be limited at our destinations. Many attendees will enjoy sampling the local restaurants/cafes etc. However, sitting down, ordering and enjoying a meal does take time. Therefore, some members alternatively prefer to use the time to see as many sights as possible. If this is the case, then attendees are more than welcome to bring a packed-lunch to maximise sightseeing time. Please note though that hot food and hot drinks can not be consumed on the actual coach.
All payments are to be made online via PayPal in full if you decide to RSVP (you will be taken to the payments page after you RSVP).
Please note you do not have to have a Paypal account to pay via Paypal. If you do not have a Paypal account, choose the option to 'pay with a debit or credit card' and fill in your card details, address, email etc as directed by the screen.
Please 'click here' to view an organiser's meetup group set-up with instructions and screenshots on how to pay without a Paypal account. Included in the price of £30 will be a contribution to my brother and I for organising this day trip.
Information Relating to Refunds and Selling a Space:
Payments are non-refundable unless the trip is cancelled or rescheduled. However, if you have booked on the trip and can no longer attend, we will refund your money only if the meetup is full and someone else takes your place (and pays for the place) from the waiting list. If you have booked and can no longer attend, please ensure you email me first before changing your RSVP to 'no'. Also, please ensure you click here to read the following information relating to selling a space. Note that 36 hours before this event the RSVP's will close and no more spaces will be re-allocated by us. We need this time for last minute planning.
Information relating to Buying a Space on a Trip that is Full:
If you are planning to buy a space on a trip that is full, please click here to read the following information.
PLEASE DO NOT POST COMMENTS OFFERING TO BUY OR SELL SPACES IN THE COMMENTS BOX (the difficulty is that member comments offering to buy or sell spaces are often not updated after they become no longer available. This leads to confusion as members still assume spaces are available to buy or sell because the offer is still posted as a comment even though it no longer applies). We do appreciate your co-operation :-)
If you have any queries then please do not hesitate to contact us. We'll be more than happy to answer any queries. You can contact us at any time via email (click on organiser photographs for the 'send email' option) or by mobile phone after 6pm [masked]).
