Puppy Up Walk

The Puppy Up Walk is a special event created to build awareness and raise money for canine cancer research. Amy hosted & attended this event last year and said it was a lot of fun (for a really good cause!)

From the Puppy Up! Walk flyer:
"It began with a promise to raise awareness about canine cancer one mile, one city, and one person at a time. Luke Robinson with his two dogs walked 2000 miles from Austin to Boston to fulfill the promise he made to his dog Malcom who died from this horrible disease. If 2 dogs can walk 2000 miles to raise awareness, surely 2 million dogs can walk 2 miles."

**This event requires registration and a fee to be paid directly to Puppy Up! prior to beginning the walk. I have created a Dayton Dogs Unleashed team on their site for everyone to join. It would really be awesome to all walk as a group & show our support!

PREREGISTER FOR THE EVENT HERE and click on Dayton Dogs Unleashed under the team list. You can also learn more about the organization at www.2milliondogs.org.

After you've registered, you can make an individual donation page and start fundraising with friends and family. Every little bit helps in fighting this terrible disease!

Day-of registration begins at 12:00pm and the walk itself starts at 2pm. Dogs must be leashed. As the date nears I will send out more specific instructions as to where we can all meet, so we can walk as a team!

Looking forward to seeing many of you there!

Bonnie - I did this last year and it followed a path all the way around. Not sure if there "route" changed, but if it's the same it would be fine.

I am not planning any changes to the walk so any thing that needs pavement will work just fine.

Melissa I don't know if I will be able to make it because of work. But I do live in Fairborn and would like to offer to help you with any of the event planning.

I agree Heather. I lost my lab Nakita about a week before the event last year to lung cancer. Was very sudden no warnings. I still walked, and will be there this year in her honor As well with Gizmo and Paige.

I lost my lab Bella to liver cancer last year. This is a cause very close to my heart. Calli and I will definitely be there.

Hi, I'm the organizer this year and I just wanted to add some more info. Donate $20 and receive a Puppy Up! bandana and cause bracelet. Donate or raise $100 and receive an event t shirt, Puppy Up! bandana and a cause bracelet. We are planning on having a K-9 demonstration at 1:00 and a Blessing of the Animals at 1:45. I know some of you attended last year and I hope to make this years event bigger and better! If any of you have lost anyone to cancer, person, dog, cat, rabbit, anything, please feel free to bring a picture and story for our memorial wall. I am also looking for canine grand marshals to lead the walk this year. If you have a dog with cancer or know a dog with cancer please email me at [masked] or on Facebook Puppy Up! Fairborn.
