Tennis, Anyone?

Let's keep the tradition going. Come play tennis with us in a friendly, low key atmosphere. We can just hit and practice or play games and matches; usually it is some combination of both. You don't have to be a great tennis player (I'm not!). That said, though, this is not for complete beginners. If you can get the ball over the net most of the time, come join us! I can't offer instruction but would be happy to provide helpful tips or friendly trash talk (depending on what you're into). Three things NOT to worry about: 1. Don't worry about there being an even number of players; we can work around that with no trouble. 2. Don't worry about not knowing how to keep score. We will help! 3. Don't worry about not being good enough, not having a strong serve, etc. Truly, this is for players of all levels. The point is to get together and play. Bring a racket, some water, and, if you have it, a can of balls. This event is weather dependent, so if you have any concerns about the weather check this site. If I am going to cancel due to weather I will do so around 5:00 the day of the event. I am cross posting this event for another Meeup group (Team Green) as well, so there will usually be more people there than are on this list. I hope to see you there!

I'm posting this to gauge people's interest in attending the Western and Southern tennis Masters series tournament. I've been to four five of this event in the past and it was a lot of fun, especially the early rounds when you get to watch many matches in the same day by some of the best tennis players in the world. If there is enough interest then we can go as a group.

I have attended this tournament the past 2 years and it is top notch. World class players in an intimate venue (I was literally 20 feet away from Roger Federer on one of the practice courts at one point). It would be a lot of fun with a group, and the cost for the early rounds is reasonable. I think this is a great idea.

Tao, the only people who saw your post are the ones who signed up for this day's tennis Meetup. If you would like a wider audience, you can start a new discussion under the "Discussion" tab, above, and the entire Dayton North Cincy group will see it. You may get more of a response that way.
