IN LINCOLN PARK CIVIC COMMONS:
2:00 PM – Agent 99
4:30 PM – Red Hot Rhythm Review

Sooee! What’s cookin’ this summer at Fraze? Why, only the greatest food item on planet Earth – BACON. Under the hot summer sun, savor the flavor of breakfast’s favorite side item. Whether you’re in the crispy bacon or chewy bacon camp, you’ll love this brand new summer festival.

The inaugural Bacon Fest is brought to you by the Restaurant Raiders – a monthly foodie group that supports local restaurants once a month by bringing a crowd to their establishment. This festival will allow you to sample local restaurants as they showcase all of the many ways you can baconate your meal. Participating restaurants include Angie’s Firehouse Tavern, Amber Rose, Company 7, The Dock, Cest’ Tout, Lucky’s Taproom, Jay’s Seafood, Neil’s Heritage House, Cadillac Jacks, El Meson.

This festival is free and open to the public. Hear the sounds of the 70s when Agent 99 takes the stage in Lincoln Park, then get down with the Red Hot Rhythm Review as they bring the dance tunes to put the shakin’ in your bacon. In the evening, stick around for a ticketed performance by the Classic Rock n’ Blues Show.

I enjoyed it and didn't have a thing to eat! :P I just enjoyed hanging out in the park with folks on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Kellie and I ended up going to El Toro...no bacon on anything I had there but i scored an excellent margarita in the process and I know where to find bacon if I need it!

Thanks Karen. You, Al and Rob's help is appreciated. The balloons in the trees was a good idea.
The event had many faults, but this meetup is not only about the Fraze event.
It's is about getting together enjoying each others company. The Fraze Baconfest was just a venue to do this. We always seem to have a good time no matter what the circumstances are.
Don't let the inadequacies of the event deter you from coming in the future.
I think we have found our spot at the Fraze for future events. We will always try to be in that same spot.
Probably won't be until next year. Summer is almost over. :-(
It was a madhouse there. I have never seen so many people there.
I don't think the Fraze management expected so many people.
Thank you everyone that attend or tried to find us

Definitely too crowded & that's terrible about selling tickets when several food tents had already closed. Apparently everybody LOVES bacon! I'm sure they'll get the kinks worked out for next year. We arrived @ 1:20 and were allowed in @ 2. Found a nice shady spot that we decorated with signs and balloons. It certainly paid to come early! I had a 10- min. wait @ Bullwinkles for ½ wrap w/mac & cheese, but later on had a 1 hour wait for Lock 27 Brewing’s Maple Bacon ice cream (and yes, it was worth it). Around 5 pm , Al and I went to Top of the Market and got a delicious Railman sandwich after just 10 minutes. I must be living right ‘cause I also got right in and out of the ladies’ restroom and that almost never happens! The two bands from Columbus -- Agent 99 and Red Hot Rhythm Revue – were excellent!! Spending the afternoon in near perfect weather, eating good food, listening to great music and enjoying friends. It doesn’t get much better than that! Thanks for organizing it, Rick!

It was painful to attend. It is probable I will never go again. I thought the wing thing was bad but this was just terrible. They were still selling food tickets after the food was gone and then there was no refund. Almost criminal.

Lines were a little long for food so I did not stick around. but I hope to meet everyone at future events. The Fraze is a really nice place. Perfect weather for this event.

Rick I am sorry, after walking around for and hour and half I just gave up and went home. I bet there was at least 5000 people there today. The first band sounded great.

I love the Fraze but this event was too crowded. Who wants to wait an hour and a half in line for food?

I agree. It was nice but there was poor execution of the vender organization. Hopefully they will learn from this and stage it better. That said, the second band was great!

agreed. I couldn't find you all and I finally gave up and left. I had to wait in line to get in only to find out if I didn't want to drink I could have just walked in.
