The Weston A Price Foundation (WAPF) is a foundation set up to support a healthy diet in many ways. Since it was established in 1999, many local chapters have formed to educate and support people on a local level. See our ‘About’ page to read about the nutritional philosophy that guides these meetings. The national website has much valuable information to offer.
Joining the WAPF is one major way we can cast our vote for our own health.

The purpose of this Meetup is to help people:
• learn to prepare a variety of “traditional recipes” from the Nourishing Traditions Cookbook, or similar cookbooks, in a way that helps people avoid feeling overwhelmed with the information.
• become acquainted with the principles and philosophy of the “traditional diet”, ie, back-to-real-food, in a gradual and manageable way. This process can include attending meeting discussions and demonstrations, reading and listening to WAPF material, joining the WAPF to receive the Wise Traditions Journal, searching the WAPF website, and attending WAPF Conferences.
• support family farms through a dialogue with farmers and growers, which creates a mutually beneficial cooperative working relationship. Meetings offer a time for this dialogue, which can then ideally continue at the Farmers’ Markets, CSA’s, individual farms, etc.
• learn where to access quality foods, from vegetables to meats and dairy.
• network with other people seeking to eat a traditional diet, and find support for issues that are personally challenging or interesting.

Where can I find raw milk?
http://www.realmilk.com for starters.
The Liberty market of Kettering:
Promotes Ohio ’s raw milkshare herd program by offering herd shares from 4 trusted farms.
They also have whole grains, organic beans, lentils, free-ranged chemical-free, non-GMO eggs and produce comparable to major chains and many times cheaper. They offer local produce when possible (usually higher price than corporate but we believe better quality). They have stevia, coconut oil, organic spices, and of course a selection of natural sugar including local raw honey and local maple syrup.

We teach food nutrition that is quite different than what you hear from the medical profession, food industry, and the media. See our ‘About’ page to read about the nutritional philosophy that guides these meetings.
This Meetup is NOT just about going to meetings. It is central place for communicating with other people interested in eating in a traditional way, holistic healthcare, and learning from each other.
