Ok, I am totally stealing this venue from Kenny! After doing this hike last year, I have been wanting to do it again. I am unable to make it on the 27th due to my work schedule, so I will be doing this same hike myself on the 28th and I thought I would make it available to the group and those of you who were not able to make the hike on the 27th.

GERMANTOWN EVENING HIKE!
We will hike the Twin Valley Trail (TVT) from Kercher Park to Germantown Dam and back. This is a very scenic portion on the TVT that is single track with plenty of ups and downs. Pace will be moderate, but we will not stop for a break unless someone indicates the need to do so. Bring source of light, water, and trekking poles (if you have them). It will be getting dark on our return trip.
More About the Twin Valley Trail (TVT)
The Twin Valley Backpacking Trail combines the existing network of trails in Germantown and Twin Creek MetroParks with a connection to create a longer, more integrated trail system totaling over 43 miles throughout 2600 acres.
Set in the rolling hills of the Twin Valley, the TVT provides a backpacking experience reminiscent of other wilderness trails with beautiful hills, babbling brooks, abundant wildlife, history and small town charm.

I hiked Germantown MetroPark and the connector trail all the way to Kercher park this morning, so I thought I would give you guys an update on the trail conditions at the park. The Orange trail north of the dam had some moderate mud, the area north of the of the pink trail on the Orange trail on the Northeast side of the park had the worst mud. There was a couple bad areas on the Orange trail on the western side of the park near some of the pine trees. Everything else at the park was mainly moderate mud, nothing too bad. The connector trail only had 1 area that the mud was bad, the rest of it was just moderate mud
