Mad River Trail Grand Opening

Join us at Eastwood MetroPark to celebrate the completion of the new 3.6 mile leg of the Mad River Trail extension!

It's a celebration for hikers and cyclists alike!  This new recreational trail segment will be the future location of both the North Country Trail and Buckeye Trail as they come through the area, moving them off the road.

This new extension connects downtown Dayton and the more than 330 miles of trails in the regional bikeway system with Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, the National Museum of the United States Air Force, the Huffman Prairie Trail and the Kauffman Avenue Bikeway which extends to Wright State University and Fairborn.

It was a Great Day for a bike ride along this new trail/path extension. Congrats and thanks to all involved in the various communitites and organizations over the past years to make that extension a reality.
Riding from downtown Dayton to Fairborn is now possible, all on a dedicated bikeway.

Yes, I also will be riding bike up to the park and along the new bike path for this ribbon cutting. I walked the path back in the March. It is great to finally have a completed bike path out to Fairborn from downtown Dayton.

Go to the last parking lot on the park road. It is the largest parking lot in the park.
