Germantown MetroPark Hike-Brisk Pace

7 miles, 3 hours. Take SR-4 (Germantown Road) south from Dayton. Proceed to Manning Road. Turn right (west) onto Manning Road. Proceed a couple of miles to Boomershine Road. Turn left onto Boomershine Road. Meet at the Germantown Nature Center at 6910 Boomershine Road.

5 hikers attended this rigorous hike of approximately 8 miles with several hills. Hiking conditions were ideal, temperature in the low 50s, no wind. clear and sunny skies. Most of the leaves were on the ground and this created challenges for the hikers because rock and root trip hazards lay hidden beneath the leaves. Fortunately, noone fell. All 5 hikers enjoyed the wonderful challenge of the hike as well as the comradery and good conversation along the trails.
