Englewood MetroPark
4361 National Rd., Butler Twp., OH (map)
Time for another hike with Mtn Laurel. We will hike about 4 miles at a moderate pace of 2 to 2.5 mph. We will pass by 3 waterfalls and go up a few moderate hills. Bring your hiking poles, gaters and wear your hiking boots.
Description of the park:
Englewood MetroPark is a large and heavily utilized MetroPark. The natural areas of the park contain floodplain forests, large areas of former farmland in natural succession, second growth upland hardwood forest, significant remnants of mature and old growth forest, a large shallow lake/wetland, several managed grasslands, and the scenic Stillwater River. The park also contains series of rehabilitated gravel quarry along Old Springfield Rd (North Park).
From River Rivers MetroParks Facebook page: Both Englewood MetroPark and Island MetroPark are temporarily closed due to flooding. In addition, many of the bikeways/shared-use paths are currently underwater. When water levels rise, use caution near our Miami Valley waterways and steer clear of quickly moving water! Find all park alerts and closures at www.metroparks.org/Alerts.

I will be hiking a little slower than my usual because this will be my first day hiking after being sick for over 1.5 weeks.
