Introduction

My name is Preston Bartlett. I am married to the most beautiful woman in the world and the best part is that she still likes me. We have three children and a dog.

Do you enjoy backpacking or day hiking or both?

Day hiking is all that I have participated in due to the heavy costs of equipment for backpacking. Family finances do not put equipment as a necessity yet.

What do you enjoy most about backpacking or day hiking?

Love being outdoors and take our dog with me whenever possible....she is a true trail dog!! I love to walk during the winter since it is usually only the dog and me. Everyone else stays inside their homes.

Where are your favorite areas for hiking in the Dayton area?

I live close to Hills and Dales park and go there often as well as the other 5 River Metroparks. The Metroparks are definately quality.

Where are your favorite areas for backpacking or hiking outside of the Dayton area?

My brother and I maintain a section of the Buckeye Trail from the town of Lockington to Stangel Rd. It is just north of Piqua and is a wonderful and peaceful place to be. It is one of my happy places.
