Learn SCRATCH programming software, design your own game

Getting Started with Scratch:

Scratch is a programming language and an online learning community that enables young people to create stories, games, and animations, and to share their projects with others around the world. Learn the basics of Scratch, create your first project, and share it online with the Scratch community.

This is designed to be a beginners workshop for kids and adults who have had little or no SCRATCH programming experience.  SCRATCH is a very easy way to start learning programming and game design.  You will come away with enough knowledge to make a game and continue learning on your own.

Bring your own laptop if you can.  We will have a few available as well.

Program instructor: Michael Tempel

Michael Tempel is President of the Logo Foundation. He was a classroom teacher for 14 years, worked on Logo software development at Logo Computer Systems Inc (LCSI), and was part of the Future of Learning Group at the MIT Media Lab. He has been teaching programming to young people and their teachers across the USA and in more than a dozen countries abroad for more than 30 years.

When you register to attend you will be sent an email giving you the option to pay by cash, check or Paypal.  If Paypal, you will be sent a Paypal invoice, which includes a 3% handling fee.

This workshop will be limited to 15 participants.  Minimum age is 8. There is no maximum age - this workshop is open to kids and adults.
