Introduction
I have been interested in ASL and signing for many years. I am a speech-language pathologist and want to practice and improve my present skill level so that I can communicate and socialize with members of the deaf culture.
What was your educational experience?
MS in Communication Disorders
Are you Deaf, deaf, Hard of Hearing, or Hearing?
Hearing
Do you have Deaf or signing family members?
I have no Deaf or signing family members. I do, however, attend a Church signing group in my community
Is your home TV always set to show the Closed Captions?
No
When did you first become aware of the existence of ASL?
I became aware of the existence of ASL many years ago, but more so while in school pursuing an undergraduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology at Queens College in New York and a Masters in Communication Disorders at Howard University
