Hello everyone,

Today on NPR during their weekend edition they had an interview with a doctor working at a hospice. Hearing this made me think about how complex it can be to decide and then act, to terminate your life when disease has made it unbearable. Particularly since your love ones and doctors taking care of you will intervene to prevent this from happening.
Why should the patient be required to reconsider this decision? Isn't it clear that the only reason the person wants to die is because of the terminal disease and for the consequences it might bring to their family? That the person would not have decided this under normal, healthy circumstances?
