THIS IS NOT A PHYSICAL MEETING. IT IS AN ANNOUNCEMENT THAT ENTRIES ARE BEING ACCEPTED FROM JULY 6, 2013 UNTIL MIDNIGHT JULY 31, 2013 FOR OUR ANNUAL PHOTO EXHIBIT! PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BELOW BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR ENTRY!
The Decatur Digital Photography Meetup is Calling all members who wish to exhibit in our annual photography exhibit which will be hung this year at The Little Wine Shop in Avondale Estates. The exhibit will hang from October 1, 2013 until January 4, 2014. Title of the Exhibit will be, "It's All About Atlanta", and will be listed in the Atlanta Celebrates Photography catalog, issued in September.
Entries for this exhibit will be accepted from July 6, 2013 until Midnight July 31, 2013. Anyone who joined this Meetup group before July 7, 2013, and who has attended at least one meeting since January 1, 2013, may enter. Each member may submit up to 2 entries for this exhibit. Photos should have been taken since January 1, 2012. Final selection of artists and the photos to be hung in the exhibit will be made by a jury made up of this year's Mentors. Announcement of final selections will be emailed to all members entered in the exhibition by August 17, 2012.
Hanging photos may be offered for sale. Full information about the sale of photos will be sent to all photographers that are selected to exhibit.
All exhibited images must be matted and framed at the Matting and Framing Workshop, or must be completed and turned in at or before the workshop by arrangement. Details for matting, framing, and delivery will be made available shortly, as will details for the workshop. This will be your opportunity to receive free mats for all photos accepted into the exhibit, as well as purchase gallery frames at a discounted price.
Here are the steps to enter the exhibit:
1. RSVP "Yes" and pay a non-refundable entry fee of $20.00;
2. Submit up to 2 digital photos in .jpeg format by email to [masked]. The subject line of the email should say, DDPM ANNUAL PHOTO EXHIBIT-IT'S ALL ABOUT ATLANTA. In the email please list the following information:
a. Your full name
b. Your name as listed on the Meetup website, if different from above
c. Your contact phone number
d. Your contact email address
3. The filename on each digital submission should be: Member Name followed by the Caption of the Photo. Example: Ronald_Roberts Photo_Caption.jpeg. Please note that an underscore should be used between your first and last name (no space). Following your name, insert a space. Following the space, insert the Caption for your photo. All words in the caption should be connected by an underscore (no spaces).
Entries will not be considered "accepted" until all three of the above steps have been completed. You will receive an email once your photos have been accepted. Acceptance does not mean that you have been chosen to exhibit, only that you have complied with the submission process.
