Let’s take an autumn photo walk along the Whitewater Creek Trails of the East Palisades portion of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. The first part of the trail is an easy stroll along the river bank with vistas of the river and its local inhabitants. In addition to blue heron and other water-loving fowl that frequent the area, we may spot an occasional fly fishermen, canoer, or kayaker. The more adventurous in our group can continue along the trail a bit further with a climb to a scenic overlook 400 feet above the river.
Bring a picnic lunch and gather again at 12:30 PM at the Whitewater Creek Trails parking area for a picnic lunch at the picnic tables.
Note: There are no restrooms at the Whitewater Creek Trails parking area.
