Although the weather was chilly, the sun was bright and the participants enthusiastic. I enjoyed the venue even more than anticipated and didn't get to many of the railcars or exhibits. Great to see everyone and have lunch conversation too!

Great venue, although I feel that I only scratched the surface. Will have to return. I had a chance to meet a few other's in the group, and the weather actually cooperated. A great day! Sorry I missed lunch.

Always a great location and many thanks to Crista, Alica and Ron. Only had 45 minutes as I had to rush back......the demolition crew was 3 hrs early to clean up the mess from our burst/pipe flood last week.

It couldn't have been any better. Thank goodness that the weather cooperated. Even though it was cold, it wasn't cold!! It couldn't have been more perfect!!

  • Ronald R.

It was cold, but the sunny skies and great people made everything very worthwhile.

I may be late, or not there, depending on when the workers get to my apt to finish the work.

    January 17, 2014

  • Gregory B.

I am going to pass on this meetup. I don't like the cold.

    January 17, 2014

Have to work! But I have been there before and it is truly a unique place! Great place for photos!

When I shoot vertical pictures using my flash indoors, I always get very harsh shadows. How do I get rid of those ugly, distracting shadows?

    January 16, 2014

    • Gregory B.

I would bounce the light off the ceiling and sometimes off of a wall.

      January 16, 2014

    • Alan V.

Thanks Gregory, I'll try the bounce technique.

      January 16, 2014

  • Carolyn M.

I am coming and bringing a friend.

Lunch at noon sounds great! The Railway Museum is close to Pleasant Hill Road and Satelitte Blvd where there are so many places to choose from!! I hope someone comes up with a great idea. I'm hungry already!!!!

  • Marcia B.

I think I'll wait for warmer weather, but I'll look forward to seeing everyone else's photos.

    January 15, 2014

    • Carolyn M.

I think I am with you Marcia. Weather does not sound promising at all.

We plan to have various meet times for Friday Shooters events this year and we look forward to people participating around their schedules.

    January 12, 2014

  • Janette

I have to cancel - darn it! But I now have a wedding to attend on Friday!

    January 15, 2014

  • Jay T.

With the weather looking bad, I will have to change my plans. Just can't see driving 1 1/2 hours for non ideal conditions. This is the third time I have tried to get to this location and something has gone wrong for me. Have fun.

    January 14, 2014

    • L M.

Don't give up so soon. You know how the weather can be weird. It just might be a beautiful day that day. And, if the weather isn't ideal, there will always be something to shoot. Just be there and have fun with us!!!!

      1 · January 14, 2014

  • Marion M.

Thank you Alice, for sharing this information on Friday Shooters events for this year, it seems the shoots are scheduled too early for a Friday, most of the times.

    January 13, 2014

    • Crista

Hi Marion, We understand that Fridays don't work for some people due to work and other responsibilities. Weekend meetups are difficult for others. It's just another option and hope you'll be able to join us soon.

      January 14, 2014

  • Marcia B.

Is there an alternate date if Friday's forecast comes true and we have snow?

    January 13, 2014

    • Crista

We'll see if we really get enough snow to cause a problem. No plan to reschedule.

Would we be allowed to bring a model to shoot with? Are people allowed on or in the trains?

    January 11, 2014

    • Harry Q.

Many of the train cars are open to visit, but not all. Not sure about models -- may violate a commercial use policy - it would be wise to check.

      January 11, 2014
