The meditation practice we do is shamata, or 'calm abiding' meditation, which is common to all the Buddhist traditions. After this meditation we do a reflective meditation on a key Buddhist teaching, such as loving-kindness and compassion, karma and impermanence.
The session starts with twenty to thirty minutes of calm-abiding meditation through which we can develop a stable, clear and peaceful state of mind, followed by a short break.
The meditation is easy to learn and some guidance can be given for beginners. More experienced meditators are also welcome.
There is no charge for the session but voluntary donations are appreciated.
Cushions are provided.
