The Deep Dish Theater continues its tradition of selecting a book to discuss with themes in common with the current stage offering. Radio Golf by August Wilson is the play -- see http://www.deepdishtheater.org/productions?p=55 for more details. Our companion book is a great short novel about the black experience -- Home by Toni Morrison -- told through the perspective of Frank Money, a 24-year-old Korean War veteran returning home to Lotus, GA to see his younger sister, Cee, who may be dying. Frank is reluctant to return to a home that was never a home and one that carries many memories including those of his two best friends from Lotus who were killed in the war.
Come to discuss the book and play. It is not necessary to have read and seen both before joining the discussion.
