Based on the recent poll a good number of member have asked for the meet up again.

In this meet up I will cover the concept of making you zoo photographs look as though they where not taken in a zoo but on safari.

Discussions will consist of-
lens selection
use of aperture and selective focus
composition tools
using filter
Using a flash and shooting through glass.
And as always I'm open to any question that will help the members become a better photographer

Start time: 10:00 AM and finish 2:00.

Recommended equipment.
Your camera kit
Tri pod, mono pod
A zoom lens if you have one, 70 to 200/300 works great.
Plenty of batter and memory cards

The fee for my teaching is $30 for each person and does not include admission to the zoo.
This meet up is for me to be teaching only and I will not be bringing my camera. That way I can concentrate on the teaching and not be distracted by taking my own photos.smile

Paymant must be made at the time of registration or the spot will not be held for you, sorry.

WOW I think we are going to have a sell out!!!! That will be AWESOME! This is going to be a great time! I'm looking forward to meeting the new peeps and seeing all my friends! Just a reminder: To get the best photos possible bring your tripods and plenty of memory and batteries. As a general rule I always have 2 or 3 extra camera batteries charged and in my camera bag! You will be so happy that you have them if you main dies on you. TRUST ME ON THAT!!!!

    •  Safari at the Zoo was great. Learned to look at things differently, take better photos.
    •  Rob and I had a GREAT time at this meet up !
    •  Would have like more hands on time with mike. I liked meeting all the people and getting to know them. But a smaller group of about 10 may have been better

Jim and I thoroughly enjoyed the meetup at the zoo. We were learning a lot and enjoying the people we were with very much. It was a crowded Sunday at the zoo and Mike had his work cut out for him to keep everyone together. Unfortunately, we exited the cat house, about half way through the outing, and everyone had disappeared. We learned from a lady sitting nearby that "They went that way." We spent an hour trying to find the group, but never did. We learned later that they went to eat. Thoughts- Perhaps we should have had Mike's phone # in case we got separated? Perhaps there should have been meeting spots after each subject shoot? Some plan for how to find each other would have helped.
    •  Lots of great, practical tips on shooting animals as if on a safari. Mike has a great instructional style, very accesible, and he reviews key points of lessons learned.
    •  Nice learning experience.
