I was hoping you can help me out by turning to our group for volunteers to photogragh the HEADstrong Lacrosse Tournament on October 10 and 11. Please if you have time go to the website HEADstrongFoundation .org and read about Nick and what he began before he left us and what our friends and family have done to keep his dream alive (cancer awareness and research). If you have any questions just let me know. Thanx sooooo much Lois 3rd Annual Nick Colleluori Lacrosse Classic OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE Mark your calendars for October 10th & 11th, 2009 The Tournament: The 3rd Annual Nick Colleluori Classic will be held at Ridley High School in Folsom, Pennsylvania. The tournament date is, Saturday October 10th beginning at 9:00am and will host 12 Division I College lacrosse teams and Sunday October11th, consisting of 8 Division III College lacrosse teams. A list of the teams who will be playing in the Classic are: Hofstra University Drexel University University of Detroit Fairfield University Lafayette University Quinnipiac University St. Joseph’s University Rutgers University Sacred Heart University University of Maryland, BC Villanova University Widener University Cabrini College Wesley College McDaniel College Ursinus College York College Elizabethtown About Nick: Nick Colleluori (“Head”) graduated from Ridley High School in June 2004 as a three-sport athlete and joined the Hofstra Pride Lacrosse team the next fall. With hard work and determination, Nick earned a role on the Hofstra team the spring of his freshman year. Nick was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in September, which started a brutal fourteen month battle with cancer. Although Nick battled with all his will and might, he lost his battle to cancer on November 28th, 2006. During his illness, Nick not only battled cancer physically, but also mentally. Nick reached out to others with the same illness and counseled them to help them have the same positive outlook that Nick always possessed. In Nick’s own way, he also counseled his family, friends and teammates to help the through this extremely difficult time. He was truly an inspiration to all who knew him. It was Nick’s idea to begin the HEADstrong Foundation, to help those who have been diagnosed with blood cancers, as well as put an end to this horrible disease. To learn more about Nick and the HEADstrong Foundation Mission, please visit www.HEADstrongfounda tion.org. About the Tournament: To honor Nick and those affected by blood cancer, each year the HEADstrong Foundation hosts this lacrosse tournament with the hope of building a team of champions to combat blood cancer. All proceeds will go towards blood cancer research. Each participating team will sell t-shirts on their campus to raise funds and awareness of this disease. Division 1 teams will play 2 regulation games and Division III teams will play 2 one-hour games.

On Sept 21, 08, I have been asked to officially photograph a motorcycle event and ride for a children's charity. (see link) http://www.rideforki d... The ride starts at the King of Prussia Mall, travels through Valley Forge park, and ends at Longwood Gardens. I am doing this on a volunteer basis. However, I am looking for as many other volunteer photographer to help me capture the event as possible. As member sign up I will be contacting them to let them know where I will need them alone the ride route to cover the entire event. We will be mostly shooting as photo journalists and doing some groups and candid photos. There will be sick children and their families at the event, and we may be asked to do simple family photos. There will be all walks of life at this event, from doctors and lawyers on bikes to some "real" bikers, but all are very NICE people! So if you are not comfortable around motorcycles, the noise, and cool things, thank you anyway. At the end of the day, we will be downloading all of the images to the organizer's laptop. However, we can keep our images too. Food and drinks will be provided for you. Please let me know ASAP, so I can tell the organizer how many of us will be showing up. Last year the event was over around 2:00. Thank you Mike Hagan 610 405 4112 www.mhaganphoto.com email: fotomike@mac.com

The weather for August 22 look really bad. I am changing the date of this meet up to September 13th with a rain date being October 11. After speaking to a number of greatly experienced photographers I have decided to relocate this meet up. Rickets Glenn water fall are not flowing heavy enough to accomplish what I will be teaching and trying to cover in the meet up. Not to mention that the 2 1/2 to 3 hours is a very long drive for a one day event. Bushkill Falls can be reached in 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 hours. I will be holding a weekend long trip to Rickets Glenn in the future. Please let me know if sign up for the meet up and do not want to attend Bushkill Falls and I will refund your money. This meet up is for anyone who enjoys the great outdoors and loves great locations for landscape photography. During this meet up I will be covering the following topics: The uses of Neutral Density filters and graduated filters and how they work and what to use them for. Controlling the shutter speed of your camera to get the desired results you are looking for in your landscape images. The importance of selecting the correct ISO for landscapes images Designing a good looking landscape images using proven composition tools and skills. The bracketing of your images for later uses with HDR software The RECOMMENDED equipment for this meet up: but not required! Your camera kit Tripod (Strongly recommended) Neutral Density filter, 2, 4, 8 (Strongly recommended, the cokin filter system or the lee filter system work great) Large capacity memory card Extra camera batteries Both wide angle and telephoto lenses Very comfortable hiking clothing and hiking shoes Some type insect repellent A very large and full water bottle MONEY to pay for you entrance into the park I am starting this meet up at 10:00 due to the location being about 1 1/2 hours from Delaware County and Philadelphia. If members are running late I will wait a 1/2 hour for them to arrive. After the 1/2 hour the members who are late will need to catch up to the group on the hiking trail. Rain date October 11, 2009

Date changed due to bad weather. I am now going the 16th. New rain date is the 23rd The good news is I'll should have my kilt and Irish out back! See you all then! This is a change for our group to think "Outside the Box" I would like the group to look past all the dressing up and costumes and look for more abstract images. For example: At the glass blowers location, use macro lens to capture all the colors and patterns in the finished pieces. At the many craft location look for the detail the make the pieces look as good as the do. The Fair has it's own Photo contest, you can see the rules in the link below. It would be very cool if on of our group won the contest. Link: PA Ren. Fair, Photo Contest How to get there: Getting to an event at Mount Hope is easy! We're located 15 miles north of Lancaster and 14 miles east of Hershey on the spectacular gardens of the Victorian Mount Hope Estate & Winery, Route 72, at the traffic signal just 1⁄4 mile south of the Pennsylvania Turnpike - Exit 266 (formerly Exit 20). This will be a teaching meet up for me. So this will be a great time to ask me question and to help you with you photography. My teaching fee is $20.00, and you will need to purchase a ticket to enter the grounds. Parking is free. If you want to bring a guest, and that guest is not going to be taking photographs please bring them but do not register them in our group. RAIN DATE August 23rd

This meet up will take place at Longwood Gardens. Concept for the meet up: Create images the you normally do not take. How to do this. Use a lens that you have never tried. Instead of looking at the "BIG" picture look for the smaller details. This is a great location for using a MACRO lens. Try to be more abstract with you photography. Set you camera to the Black and White mode. Change your prospective, get higher or lower. I will be teaching at this meet up so the teaching fee is $20.00 per member. Longwood has a very nice indoor conservatory so this will be a rain or shine event. recommended equipment. you standard camera bag. lenses you normally do not work with. Polarizer filter TRIPOD!!!!!
