See what's left of the town that's on fire beneath its streets! You can find details on Centralia here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centralia,_Pennsylvania
We'll take one of the best driving roads in PA to get there- PA 125. See this article for a description and some pics: http://www.pa-mag.com/2009/10/0...
Meet in Pine Grove, PA at Buddy's Log Cabin, 8:00 AM for breakfast or 10:00 AM for just the drive, then drive Gold Mine Rd and PA 125 over the mountain to Shamokin, PA for a layover at the Turkey Hill convenience store for gas, snacks, bathrooms, etc. before heading to Centralia.
Expect to spend about an hour in the twisties on the way to Shamokin and another half hour to get to Centralia. There are no services, or really anything resembling civilization, left in Centralia, but Mt Carmel right down PA 61 has gas, food, etc. Also, Centralia isn't far from I-81 for those looking to make time on their way home.

Rt 125 is equal parts scenic and challenging. Coming down the mountain on the Shamokin side there are some serious downhill hairpins that you need to pay attention to, so stay within your limits and pay attention to the road! On a nice day there may be some amount of sport bike traffic, so watch out for our two wheeled friends and be aware that they will be looking to pass (no matter how quick you may be going :-)). Bottom line, pay attention to the road and your surroundings and everyone will have a great day!
