Pope Francis. Is he relevant?

With the election of the new pope, the News Journal/delawareonline, conducted a non-scientific poll with the results as follows:
"Are you paying attention to the papal election?"
1) Yes. I'm Catholic and it's important to me. 25%
2) Yes, but only from a historical perspective. 35%
3) No. I'm Catholic but, haven't been to Mass in years. 16%
4)  No, I'm not religious. 22%
 
It's interesting to note the percentage of non-religious is comparable to devout Catholics, 22% to 25%. Throw in the 16% and half of the 35%
and it may just be something's shaking out there which, of course, is all good. Dave
