50th Annual Wilmington Jaycees Christmas Parade

The Wilmington Jaycees are currently planning for the 50th Annual Wilmington Jaycees Christmas Parade to be held in Downtown Wilmington on Saturday, November 30 at 11 am. This year’s Parade will again feature:

• Local celebrities and dignitaries
• Marching and String Bands
• Community organizations
• Floats and attractions
• Statewide Pageant Winners
• Your Favorite Cartoon Characters
And the Star of the Show – Santa Claus! Elves will be accepting Christmas wish lists from children for Santa. Children who provide their name and address will receive a response from Santa in December.

Plus many more exciting surprises in honor of our 50th anniversary!!

Past Wilmington Jaycees Christmas Parades have featured an outstanding selection of local and national celebrities: Luke Matheny, 2011 Oscar winner for Best Live Action Short Film; Aubrey Plaza, star of NBC Comedy “Parks and Recreation”; Vince Papale who inspired the 2006 movie “Invincible”; A.J. Melendez of “American Idol Juniors”; Sean Patrick Thomas Co-Star of CBS Drama Series “The District” and movies, “The Last Dance” and “Cruel Intentions”; Heavyweight Boxing Champion Michael Spinks; Middleweight Boxing Champion Bernard Hopkins; Olympic Gold Medalist Dionna Harris; Television Stars “ER” Evette Freeman; “Welcome Back Kotter” star Ron Pallilo; Singers – Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis Jr.; plus many other stars from Sports, Movies, Television, Theater, Publishing, Etc.

If you are a member of a community organization that would like to participate in the parade, please complete the form below. Deadline for submissions is November 2, 2013. Completion of the form is not a guarantee of acceptance into the parade. Groups selected will be notified by November 18, 2013. Preference will be given to groups that entertain.

The Wilmington Jaycees is a premier young people’s organization, affiliated with the United States Junior Chamber of Commerce, made up of men and women between the ages of 21 and 40. The Jaycees help people through personal growth, leadership development, and community involvement.
