2nd Delhi Literature Festival at the Indira Gandhi National Center for the Arts


The First Delhi Literature Festival, organised by Cinedarbaar which was held on 8th and 9th February 2013 at IGNCA, New Delhi proved to be a huge success. This year, the Delhi Book Lovers is proud to announce its association with the Festival!


The festival was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Delhi Smt. Sheila Dixit and had participation from over 40 authors for panel discussions, book launches, poetry reading and interactions at the venue. It received great response, support and participation from authors, publishers, bloggers, other literary figures, embassies, government bodies and general public especially the youth.


Motivated and highly encouraged with the colossal response during the first edition, the 2nd Delhi Literature Festival has been planned for 7th, 8th and 9th February, 2014


Delhi Literature Festival is one of the many initiatives to promote the literary world among all and also provide a platform to encourage and promote the young budding and independent authors and publishers.

Bibliophiles, Meetups, Literature et al - 2:00 PM

A talk by an author, book club founders, readers and aspiring writers on the growing culture and popularity of Book clubs and how are they beneficial.

Saumya Kulshreshtha (Founder, PACH), Leher Sethi (Co-Founder, Delhi Book Lovers Club), Meenakshi Reddy Madhavan (Author), Meenakshi Goyal (Reader),  Akshay Sharma (Aspiring Writer) and Kunal Gupta (MODERATOR)

Love & Relationships in Contemporary Writings - 6:00 PM

This session probes into the traditional gender relationship roles inflicted upon us by society & analyzes love myths in society today, besides looking at topics like pre-marital sex, infidelity and same-gender love.

    For the Session on Hindi Literature: 7th Feb (6:00 pm – 7:00 pm): Reminiscing Rajendra Yadav – A Tribute

    Rajender Yadav, who recently passed away in October 2013, was one of the most well-known writers of Hindi language. He is most known for pioneering the Hindi Literary Movement – Nayi Kahani. He also revived Munshi Premchand’s Magazine Hans in 1986 and has extensively written for the cause of Dalits, Women, Rural India etc. through it. The session will see Sri Namvar Singh, the greatest critique of Hindi Literature and a close friend of Rajender Yadav, Ajit Kr. Chaudhary, noted Hindi poet and Rachna Yadav, daughter of Rajendera Yadav and currently the MD of Hans Publications, reminiscing the legend of the Hindi Literature. The session will be presided over by Dr. Nirmala Jain, who has been very closely associated with the Yadav family.

    One of the speakers is Bernardo Carvalho. Bernardo Carvalho (Rio de Janeiro, 1960) is a Brazilian author and journalist. He was the editor of “Folhetim,” a collection of essays, and is a Paris and New York correspondent for Folha de São Paulo. His first two novels were edited in France.

    His novel "Mongólia" received the 2003 prize of the Associação Paulista dos Críticos de Arte. He shared the Portugal Telecom Prize for Literature with Dalton Trevisan for his novel "Nove Noites."
