Here's your chance to see how two high-demand software programs work -- An overview of Nik's Color Efex Pro 4 and Portrait Professional image editing software.

Color Efex Pro 4 is a plug-in program, complimenting host programs such as Photoshop, Lightroom, or Aperture.  It is the perfect launch pad for your creativity with 55 filters and countless effects for color correction, retouching, and other creative enhancements.  Please note:  Nik was recently acquired by Google and they are running a special ($149) for the bundle of their software, including Color/Silver Efex Pro, Viveza, HDR Efex Pro, Sharpener Pro, and Define.  Here's a link for more information:

Portrait Professional image editing software is used as a standalone program or the new PP Studio handles RAW images directly and is available as a plugin to Photoshop.  Portrait professional is known as the easiest portrait software using sliders to control various effects.  Here's a link for more information about Portrait Professional:

Presenter Sheryl Sturges will spend most of her time with CEP4, using examples of various filters and combinations of treatments specific to the type of image being edited.  Several examples of Portrait Professional will be reviewed and you'll be able to see before and after results during the presentation using both software.  Michael Cohen has agreed to share his expertise with Portrait Professional.  He has been using the program with great success.

Good presentation. It allowed me to see what else is out there. I was about to upgrade my Paint Shop Pro to the deluxe 5 Edition, but now I may have to rethink my plan. Thanks for a fun and educational day!

always wonderful to learn and share new things with such gifted photographers! I came home, went online and purchased Portrait Professional (the inexpensive version...only $39!!). Then I pulled out a photo I had taken of myself and let it do its wonders. WOW! What an easy way to lose weight! If only in life it were only as easy as pushing a few buttons like that! I think my family is going to LOVE the photos I take of them! And seeing the photo album that Sheryl and Wayne created online, now I have a great idea for this year's XMAS gifts...Family photos (all prettied up!) in a coffee-table book!
    Great day, all in all!

It was a great session. I have used color effex quite a bit but I still learned some things today about the software. While I use it often I am still amazed how a simple not much to look at windmill can turn into a really stunning image. Goes to show you shouldn't throw any of your images away!

Diablo Valley photography has an event that day. Very interested. Could you make it another time when there aren't so many conflicts

We should be able to do both events because this one is in the morning and the Diablo Valley photo scavenger hunt starts at 7pm.
