Alternate Party

As April 6th is the birthday of Samwise Gamgee (and the 26th of April is the date of the unexpected party) I propose we mark the occasion with a Hobbit-ish celebration. I shall bake a seed cake and I will provide mead and ale. If I become really ambitious I shall try my hand at hobbit style chips.

To be clear 10:30pm is not a hard end time, but a guideline for people feeling free to come and go anytime between the start and end.

DASFA Alternate Parties are so named because they were started as an alternate to the "Dead Dog Party" that occurs after the monthly meeting. In general a DASFA party is a BYO (Bring Your Own) type event with people bringing a drink or food item that they want to have and share, but members are not required to bring anything. Fans will talk of the things that we find interesting, be that science articles that were recently read, talking about books, TV shows, etc.

Absolutely. I was really sad to miss it. Much more fun than my day was I bet.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
