Life of Pi in 3D

In a very close vote, Life of Pi won the poll so that will be our movie for this Thursday, Nov. 29. Meet in the lobby of the Landmark Greenwood Village theater at 6:45 for the 7:00 movie. This is in 3D so I think it will be a treat. I recommend buying tickets in advance just in case. It's movie season, this is a fairly new release, and the GV theater is small.

After the film, we will go somewhere in the area for food, drinks, and discussion. I will not be able to make this one due to a scheduling conflict :-( so Holley is hosting on my behalf. Look for her Holley and Dave in the lobby.

Enjoy!

Jenn

More like 3.5. Very good movie, visually amazing and an interesting story.

And are tickets available still? The site says purchasing is not available.

Something is wrong with the site. That happened to me with ARGO a few weeks ago. Really annoying.

That website is all kinds of broken. Can't find any links that are working. Hope they aren't sold out!

If Pi is sold out, Lincoln is next door. ;o)

I just called GV and he says the site has been fixed. Not looking sold out. If you still can't order online, he said call in. I got through without a problem, push #7 for help @[masked]-0584. Enjoy the show !

Thank you all very much! I will give it a try later, and may go VIP :)

I went to this link and it looks like tickets are available for purchase but on-line purchasing is currently disabled. I tried to call the theater to confirm this but couldn't get through. I would recommend checking back later or just trying to arrive early on Thursday. I don't think there will be a problem getting tickets but after Thanksgiving weekend, I want to make sure.

    What is VIP?

There are comfy leather two seaters in the sweet spot of the theater and they provide concierge service. You also skip the line. They have a changing appetizer menu that is only so so. I generally pay the $3 charge when it is a packed theater or a particularly visually dependent movie also in part 'cause my hearing is not the best and cross talk can interfere.

I am heading out of town for a few weeks. Still hope to meet y'all for movies after that.

Warning: the non-VIP price is $14.50. The VIP price is, gulp, $17.50. Free popcorn and sodas, though.

I'm going to try to make it if its Pi! I had to bail on plans to see it this past weekend.

Have to respectfully disagree on "Pi" being a children's book--I thought it was extremely violent and intense. The first-person narration by a child-age character perhaps makes it seem that way though. Plus, it's an Ang Lee film--his stuff is almost always a thrilling movie-going experience. The 3D must be super cool, too!

May I suggest Lincoln? I've been holding off on it to see if we choose this one. I think it would make for an awesome discussion after.

I liked Life of PI. If that is chosen, I'll catch you guys next time.

Lincoln was AMAZING. I learned so much about the 19th Amendment. Life of PI is a children's book. The book was hard to read maybe the movie would be better?

I learned that the 7pm showing of "Life of Pi" at Greenwood Village is in 3D. Not sure how folks feel about that, but it makes it more compelling to me.

I saw it this weekend in El Paso in 3D, only way to go with this one!

Geez, they are neck and neck. If Pi is selected I would attempt VIP seats. Currently all of them are open.

I saw Life of PI, surprised about the comments on Lincoln, if it is voted I'll go :)

Hmm... seeing Life of Pi tonight, so I may have to wait for the next round. I'm not really interested in the others.
