Denver Cinema Club is a way to meet up with other film lovers to see new independent, foreign or otherwise interesting movies and discuss over drinks afterwards. We typically meet three Thursday evenings per month and one Saturday afternoon per month. Each week one of our small team of dedicated (and volunteer) organizers will post up a poll of discriminating film selections to be voted on by our members. After the poll closes, the winning film, showtime and location will be announced. If you're a Cinephile, movie-buff or film aficionado and enjoy discussing, dissecting and critiquing good movies this is a great way to filter through the hype and see unique, high-quality movies with a dozen or so of your best film-loving friends.
Denver Cinema Club is not a "singles" club. If you enjoy movies but attend our meetups for the greater purpose of meeting a significant other, while your intentions are perfectly reasonable, you will likely not enjoy the kinds of films we see.
If you recoil at violent, dark, sexually explicit, blasphemous (religious or political), deviant or otherwise bizarre, confusing or abstract subject matter (or for that matter don't like subtitles or theaters that don't have stadium seating) this is probably not the group for you. Of course singles (and any and all comers) are encouraged to join (and we think you'll like the experience). Just keep in mind we often watch artistic films that may not be for the average filmgoer.
